From humble beginnings in Brisbanes’ Valley night clubs to main stage performances at Livid 2003 this band of brothers has gone from strength to strength and the butterball just keeps on building. Forging a name for themselves with their infectiously manic and unconventional Hip Hop sounds, Butterfingers have been blazing a trail through the Australian live music scene for over three years now.
The band’s first two independent releases Everytime and I Love Work made it onto rotation at JJJ and both songs found top 40 positions in the JJJ Hottest 100 this year (38 and 15 respectively). Both releases have lingered in the top ten of the AIR Charts for months on end and the band’s live shows are turning into rock monsters that are breeding excitement and spreading sonic insanity across the entire country. The touring schedules have increased and in 2004 Butterfingers have already completed successful trips to NSW, VIC and WA as well as performing sellout shows in their hometown of Brisbane.
The big news for 2004 is the completion of the much anticipated Butterfingers album, Breakfast At Fatboys, which was released in May. With ARIA award winning producer Magoo at the helm, the album is shaping up to become a huge hit that reflects the band’s diversity and is guaranteed to surprise a lot of fans whose only experience with the band has been via the radio. The quirky Hip Hop will resurface alongside a big bag of buttery beats & rock & dub & pop & whatever other elements of the Butterfingers set list selected for release.
The first single from the album, Yo Mama, was instantly added to high rotation on JJJ as were many of the other tracks on the album. Avoiding the lure of a major label deal the album was released through the independent Valley Trash label with national distribution through MGM.

This debut 4-track EP features some of the infectious
hooks and controversial humour that have made Butterfingers such a high
profile act in their hometown of Brisbane. The bands' live performances and
unconventional approach to Aussie Hip-Hop have already earned them a broad
audience and the EPs' title track, Everytime provides a strong example of the unique and clever songwriting that sets this band apart. Butterfingers have
produced and road-tested a collection of highly accessible and original tunes.

Butterfingers are back! And they're set to explode on the
summer airwaves with this brand new single.
"Nothin Much Happens" is a slacker anthem, a combination of Hip Hop and
Reggae grooves all tied together with the wit and humour of Evil Eddie's lyrical
brilliance.
It's the kind of sing-along hit we've come to expect from Butterfingers and it
offers a nice little glimpse into the direction of the upcoming album - due for
release around April 2008.

It's a Double B-side on steroids. It's a mini four-on-thefloor
rock epic. It's a tragedy wrapped in a good time had by all. It's pure Butterfingers.
"Jesus I Was Evil" is the band's first recorded cover version and it's gonna explode on
the airways this summer. The song was written and recorded by NZ national Darcy Clay
(Daniel Bolton) whose untimely suicide in 1998 occured just weeks before he was
scheduled to play at an anti-suicide concert. "Everybody's Ugly" is a hard edged little
ditty put together in true rock style and belted out by this country's most diverse
musical mental cases. Repent now, ye ugly sinners. Embrace the Double B.

After knockout performances on the Livid tour
Brisbane’s wayward sons- Butterfingers- are assaulting the airwaves with
another dose of their manic Hip-Hop in the form of a new 4 track single. I Love
Work is packed full of tongue-in-cheek irony and wacky instrumentation
providing a prime example of a band less ordinary. Another little teaser from
an upcoming album that is sure to blow some minds.
