Darren Hanlon announces Tour Support
Posted: Jun 24 2010

Pop luminary Darren Hanlon is gearing up for an extensive album launch tour this August, where he’ll be
supported by up and coming American songstress Shelley Short.

Darren releases his long awaited fourth studio album I Will Love You At All on 16 July 2010 via Flippin’
Yeah Industries/MGM. Playing shows across Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Hobart,
Adelaide, Fremantle, Pomona, Bangalow, Armidale, Newcastle, Katoomba and Bulli, Darren will be
joined by Shelley Short for all thirteen dates.

Hailing from Portland, Shelley Short is one of the city’s rising stars. Described as “Mazzy Star meets
Emmylou Harris” (Giant Magazine), Shelley will sing in Darren’s band, and open proceedings each night
performing her own enchanting alt-folk gems.

Written in a variety of exotic locations from Paris to Coonabarabran, the album was recorded at Type
Foundry in Portland, Oregon by Adam Selzer (M Ward, She & Him, The Decemberists). Featuring
Rachel Blumberg (Bright Eyes, M Ward, She & Him, The Decemberists) on drums – along with three
additional drummers – the record also features long-time collaborator Cory Gray on keys, and vocalists
Shelley Short and Alia Farah.

Darren’s most honest and understated work to date, I Will Love You At All is a charming Australian
songbook of gentle longing and reminiscence. Featuring the first single ‘All These Things’, a charming
ukulele pop song currently on triple j rotation, the album is self described as Darren’s ’mature’ album. It is
indeed further ripening of this uniquely rewarding storyteller.

“Here is a man who loves words, not just the sound of his own voice. And he makes those words
into stories that seem like conversations you’ve walked in on or lives you have lived, unaware that
someone was watching while you did it”.
- Bernard Zuel, Sydney Morning Herald
