Roots soul trio from Adelaide, WANDERERS (formerly Wasted Wanderers) released their sophomore EP ‘ Something of a Distraction’ the other week, and today have shared a brand new live clip that captures the magic of their live performance, with a take of the first single ‘Loco’. Expanding out from their usual trio format the clip sees them recreate Loco completely live, bringing in the horns and smooth harmonies, amongst other things to really demonstrate their ability to take it from record to the live arena with little difficulty.
The new release has been touted as ‘a six-track collection of earnest, infectious, blues-flecked jams that entice the listener from the outset, from lilting opener Loco to the downtempo strut of pseudo-gospel closer Mary Jane and everywhere in-between’. With the band having spent much of 2016 playing festivals and touring the country, they have built a reputation around their catchy harmonies, groove driven tunes as well as always putting on a damn good show. With Loco capturing attention from all across the globe, it’s proving this new direction, and the experimentation they’ve taken to their sound and instrumentation, has clearly paid off!
‘…and what followed was Wanderers’ trademark symphony of moods- the shredding of guitar riffs, dreamy harmonies, funky bass and a general feeling of nostalgia.’ - This is Radelaide
