Barney McAll

Barney McAll was born in 1966 and grew up in Melbourne, Australia playing improvised music and strange permutations of Reggae and funk. Graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts in 1991, he also toured Australia and Europe extensively with vocalist Vince Jones and produced two albums for him; 'Future Girl' and 'Heres To The Miracles'. Barney came to NYC in 1993 on a grant from the Australian Arts Council and began performing with such artists as Billy Harper, Jim Black, Josh Roseman, Ben Monder, and Vincent Herring. He moved to NYC permanently in 1997 to join Gary Bartz' band and since then has performed and recorded with musicians such as Kenny Garrett, Badal Roy, Stefon Harris, Wallace Roney, Seamus Blake, Mark Turner, Peter Apfelbaum, Andy Bey, Dewey Redman, Louis Hayes, Fred Wesley, N¹dea Davenport, Steve Turre, Joey Baron, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and Roy Ayers.
